4/21/07: Biggest Quarter Ever!
In March HfC made its largest distribution of support ever:
$3,970.42. This went to the support of
ASODI, including educational support, drugs for the treatment of epilepsy,
and funds for the administrative needs of ASODI such as transportation,
etc. These funds are also being used
to start several new efforts aimed at improving self-sufficiency among the
orphan population, including Palm Oil sales and rearing of goats. For more information read our latest sponsor letter, or read the latest news on
www.asodi.org.
1/15/07: ASODI 2006 Annual Report
With your support we were able to help ASODI accomplish much in
2006: 500 epileptic children were provided medicine, 600 needy and orphaned
children were provided the supplies they need to continue in school; 36
orphans were assisted with supplies and sponsorship in college and vocational
training. Read more about ASODI’s
accomplishments by reading the annual report: http://www.asodi.org/2006Report.pdf
12//06: Alternative Christmas Fair a Success
HfC once again participated at the St. John’s Alternative
Christmas Fair, offering the opportunity to sign up as an orphan sponsor as
alternative to a traditional Christmas gift.
We signed up several new sponsors for the event, as well as taking in
over $300 of one-time contributions.
9/30/06: Update on ASODI
The third quarter of 2006 was a most productive one for
ASODI. In August, a pair of
researchers from the University
of Toronto traveled
within Ngie to plan a research project for the study of the epilepsy
epidemic. The team was guided and
assisted by Ambanibe Jerome, president of ASODI. The project is now pending the search for
funding. In September, the quarterly
financial support from St. John’s Presbyterian
Church in Los Angeles, USA, was used to purchase school
supplies for 625 orphans from the villages of Teze and Andek, as well as
medical supplies for some of the epileptics in Ngie. At the end of September, Mr. Ambanibe’s
work with the Cameroon Ministry of Social Affairs resulted in ASODI being
awarded a grant to cover the care and education of 120 orphans for the next 4
years. And 17 wheelchairs have been
donated to ASODI by an American firm and in October will be delivered to
disabled people located throughout the Momo Division.
9/30/06: Update on Orphan Sponsorship Program
Thanks to your support, the Orphan Sponsorship Program has
continued to gain momentum. On August 19 HfC wired the second quarterly
distribution of support for orphans, totaling $1,490. This brings our year-to-date support to $x,xxx. To see photos and information about how
this was used, visit the ASODI web site, www.asodi.org.
6/30/06: Cameroon
Mission Trip Video
If you do not yet have a copy of the 2005 Mission Trip video,
you can still get one for $3.00. Send

6/30/06: Cameroon
Celebration
Our Cameroon Celebration on June 18th was a big
success, with a “full house” turnout
to eat a traditional Cameroon
meal and see the 2005 Mission Trip video.
MANY THANKS to all of you that came and gave HfC your support. THANK YOU also to the xx new sponsors that
signed up at this event!
